1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup pumpkin (canned)
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 2/3 cups flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1 cup chopped, peeled apples
In
a bowl, combine sugar, pumpkin, water, oil, and eggs and mix well. In a
separate bowl, combine remaining ingredients except the apples. Add
flour mixture to pumpkin mixture and beat on low speed just until
moistened. Fold in apples. Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake at
325 degrees for 60-70 minutes or until a knife inserted in the middle
comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes.

French Peasant Bread
1 Tbsp. yeast
2 cups warm water
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
4 cups flour
oil
corn meal
melted butter
Combine yeast, water, sugar, and salt in bowl and stir until dissolved. Add flour and stir until blended. Do not knead. Cover and rise one hour or until doubled in size.
Flour hands, remove dough from bowl and place in two rounds on an oiled cookie sheet sprinkled with corn meal. Les rise an additional hour.
Brush top with melted butter and bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and brush again with melted butter. Serve warm.
